Building a Brighter, United Community
ReNew The View is a unique, large scale project to transform the boarding surrounding the construction site at 282 Ontario St. into pieces of art. The owners of the former GM lands have joined forces with Willow Arts Community to ReNew The View with vibrant murals painted on the blank plywood along all four streets bordering the site.
This is first and foremost a community project. The murals are being designed to celebrate what’s special about the neighbourhoods as well as recognize GM workers who lived across the city. They are being designed and painted by artists from Willow Arts Community.

Share Your Time
Join us on Saturday, October 19 for the Community Paint Day. Lead artists Katherine Sunita, Lisa Forstinger, and Sarah Carter will be completing their neighbourhood murals and they need your help! These lead artists have designed murals to reflect feedback from the Fitz and Haig Neighbours as well as capture the imaginations from time spent with the youth residents at Manchester Regional Housing. No art-making experience is necessary, this opportunity is open to all ages and abilities. Supplies will be provided.
Date: Saturday, October 19
Time: 11 AM – 4 PM
Location: Haig St in St. Catharines (the construction board surrounding the old GM site)
